Editorial Reviews
From the Manufacturer
Intermatic heavy duty in-wall timer with astronomic features is made for a variety of uses. It can control lighting including fluorescent and heavy duty loads such as fans and appliances. It can be used for both a single pole and 3 way applications up to 100 feet.
There are 6 on/off settings per day for a total of 42 per week. This to the minute setting accuracy is very easy to program with a 6 button set. It has a LCD digital clock and readout. The random setting feature helps avoid predictable timer contolled look. The battery backup feature avoids power outage resetting. Batteries are included.
Customer Reviews
OK so far

Been using this for about six weeks now and it seems to be working fine. Installation was a bit of a chore because my existing switch box was too shallow and I had to find an extender, as I didn't want to change the box.
The result sticks out from the wall about an inch and looks a little clunkier than it could. Programming was not as difficult as some reviews suggest, maybe because I used the dusk-dawn default. Hope it lasts.
No fuss once it is programmed

This unit is still adjusting itself after four years. The buttons and screen are too tiny, but the unit works and can be temporarily overridden when needed. I have not seen anything better for the price.
Great features, but hard to program!

I've read many reviews here some saying this is very easy to program, others saying it is very difficult. I lean towards the difficult. It isn't so bad if you have the directions readily available and follow them precisely step by step, but lose your directions or try to do any programming without them and you'll have a mess on your hands.
I like the dawn to dusk features and that makes programming easier. I think the difficulty in programming comes, when like me, you only want it on for a few hours during the evening.
